Creating a Renewed Brand Presence for a National Non-profit Group
CLIENT: Selective Mutism Group

OBJECTIVES: SMG, part of the Childhood Anxiety Network, is the nation's premier resource dedicated to providing information and support to those impacted by a child with the anxiety disorder known as Selective Mutism (SM). SMG approached Boondock Walker with the charge to develop a powerful new website to fuel an increase in public awareness, promote understanding, and to provide support to professionals, individuals and their families. As a virtual organization, SMG needed the site to drive an increase in membership and treating professionals, as well as introduce prospective donors to SMG.

STRATEGIES: Following our comprehensive brand audit, we developed a new brand platform that defined key messages and organizational distinctions. In recognizing the need to support SMG's explosive growth and the increasing demand for easy to access, useful information and support, we build the new site on a flexible platform that could easily accommodate future expansion, as well as simple content updating by SMG.

RESULTS: Within the first three months of launching in January, 2008, over 2 million visitors from 100 countries around the world visited SMG online.

The newly-developed website provides SMG with an ideal platform to build brand awareness, a virtual community, and to communicate and interact with stakeholders. The technology used allows SMG to deliver tailored messaging to each of their core audiences. A solid messaging platform and consistent user experience ensures a clear position and sustainable value proposition going forward.

Following a very successful launch of the new website, SMG has realized a significant increase in visibility, including national media attention, as well as a substantial increase in membership.
